Snowflakes ~ Fond du Lac, WI Photography

February 25, 2010

This week I set out on a mission to try a technique called “poor man’s macro” with my camera. It’s simple yet complicated. Many photographers have been trying this out on snowflakes. My first attempt was on Tuesday. However, I failed to find the right subject because the sun had come out and the snow was beginning to melt. It snowed again yesterday so I decided to give it another whirl while it was snowing. Here were my results:

This was such an incredible God moment for me. I’ve always known that each snowflake is different but to see it is amazing. I was thinking about the bazillions of snowflakes that are currently in my little back yard… all of them unique. Then my mind traveled to the amount of snow that covers this state and all of the snow that has been dumping all over the map for the past few months. Really, it’s all too mind boggling. God is so creative and I stand before Him in awe!
