Ok, remember Faith? She is the senior that is just 2 posts before this one? When we were meeting at the sunflower field that night, out steps Heather. I’ve known Heather’s family for several years. We typically see each other during football season when watching games with mutual friends. Those friends of ours moved to the Bahamas this year to do full time mission work. So basically, it had been about a year since I had see her family. It didn’t even dawn on me that Heather was a senior now. As we were wrapping up Faith’s shoot, I asked Heather if she had her Senior Portraits taken yet. She said she wasn’t sure if she was going to have her portrait taken. I told her to have her mom call me. Roughly 2 weeks went by and I hadn’t heard anything. I sent Chris an email to offer my services. I’m so glad that I did! Heather has her own style. Everything from her dreads, to her colorful outfits and nails, to her moccasins sums up Heather. These sort of things are SO fun to photograph on top of capturing unique style and personality.
The final image here was a spur of the moment shot. When leaving the location, we were driving up this hill. I caught a glimpse of the sun setting behind us. It was down right gorgeous. So, I pulled over and waved them down to get one last image of Heather. The funny thing is that we actually discussed rescheduling this shoot just a couple of hours before because it had been so dark and dreary that day. About an hour before the shoot the sun came out… simply perfect!

These 3 (the blonds are brother and sister and the brunette is their cousin)… These 3 adorable children are full joy, energy, and determination! They seemed to be in constant motion. I struggled to corral the kids to get shots of the 3 of them together. When they were in the same area one was always looking away. As we wrapped up this shoot I was concerned that I didn’t capture much. I even warned the mom that I couldn’t guarantee how many images I would have. I was pleasantly surprised once I pulled them up on the computer. All in all, I think their joy and personalities were captured… and that is always the goal!
