~ Winter, Snowflakes, Kids, Trees ~ Fond du Lac, WI Photography
February 22, 2011
This past Sunday morning we were up early to do our usual eastward route to Plymouth for church. It was sunny and grass was exposed. Only a few small mounds of snowbanks remained along the curbs. Honestly, Spring was in the air. We knew that there was a winter storm advisory out for our area but it sure didn’t seem like it. We stepped out of church and there were a couple of inches of snow that had already accumulated. Ended up with just under a foot by the time it stopped snowing. Back to the blanket of snow that covers the land and another snow day for the kids.
I pulled out the camera a few times just for the fun of it. First, we have the annual “poor man’s macro” snowflake shots. When I see the detail in snowflakes, I can’t help but feel like I’ve seen the hand of God. Then, of course, I love to photograph people so there are a few of Caleb and the neighbor kids playing. Finally, I must admit that I have this thing for snow-lined trees. I don’t know what it is but, I absolutely love them. I decided to take it from the Tree’s perspective with a fisheye lens. So, here they are… Winter, Snowflakes, Kids, Trees, etc.

With the mild temps lately I’m reminded that spring is just around the corner. Who am I kidding? You know we will get another snow storm or 2 in the next month. However, with the melting snow, I can’t help but get excited for the coming season. Here is a new suggestion guide for photos. Get inspired and call to book a spring photo session!

Love the shot up into the trees!
Great snowflakes! I have tried a couple of times this winter and have not had good results with snowflake macros. You should teach a macro class!
