Here’s Anna!

She is a home schooled kid who discovered in December that she could graduate early with an additional course.

So, she managed to graduate in 2013 at the age of 16!

We had a dreary day for our session as it was misting much of the time. But, Anna was completely okay with that.

I adore her darling pixie cut and striking blue eyes.

Thanks for choosing Theresa Rose Photography for your Senior Pictures, Anna!

Letters to Our Children – May

May 22, 2013

Caleb

After taking a couple of seasons off, you’ve decided to play soccer again! The weather has been awful for much of 2013, so you finally had your first games this past weekend. It was SO fun to watch you play. We can see your natural instinct as you flow with the ball on offense and defense. You gave a great effort and appeared to really enjoy playing (except for all of the running, lol).

Your face LIT UP when the coach put you in as goalie. This whole new persona came over you. You took on the roll and loved it. I had to tell you 3 times to stop hanging on the goal because you were so fired up. Hmm, less running, getting to use your hands, punting the ball… I’m thinking goalie may be the spot for you : D We are super proud of you, Bubba!

Letters to Our Children – April

April 22, 2013

Jayda, one week from today you turn 13 ~ unbelievable! I know it’s cliche but, time has gone by SO fast.

Two weeks ago you fell at indoor soccer practice and fractured your radius. Dad & I were talking about the fact that you’ve had more stitches than us and neither one of use have ever had a cast… and we were 4 sport athletes. Therefore, as I reflect upon the past 13 years I can’t help but think about the medical issues you’ve had.

You seem to be our child that visits the doctor often. Even before you were born you were sent me to the hospital as you kept flipping from head down to breech. And being the stinker that you are, I ended up needing a C-section because you landed breech when my water broke. You had non-stop ear infections as a newborn which resulted in tubes at 8 months. Once the tubes we in, every cold resulted in bronchitis. You lost a battle with an end table just before your 4th birthday which required 5 stitches above your left eyebrow. Then, there was the time at age 5 when your knee locked up for days. Thank God we have an amazing Chiropractor! If you turn your neck just right, you end up needing more therapy from the chiropractor. After a strep infection that refused to leave, your tonsils were so swollen that they had to be removed along with your adenoids and getting turbinates zapped at age 7. You would occasionally get sharp pains in your chest that the doctor thought was asthma related. You were on inhalers for a while but we realized that wasn’t the issue. The pains naturally went away after a couple of years. At age 9 you needed braces because the orthodontist needed to shift all of your teeth to the right to make room for the permanent teeth on the left side of your mouth… and you still have them. There was your hand accident last year which required 24 stitches and gives you quite the story about scars. And now, your broken arm.

I want you to know that I’d go through all of that again for you. You are amazing, truly amazing. Don’t let anyone ever convince you otherwise. You are my favorite girl in the entire world! I love our times together. I love your sense of humor, your beautiful smile, your contagious laugh, your competitive spirit that knows the line that doesn’t need to be crossed for the sake of friendship. I love every single one of your freckles – and don’t you dare argue with me on that topic! You were (and are) the answer to our prayers. You are incredibly precious and we wouldn’t trade you for the world. I love you, Sweets!

Every year just before your birthday we do a photo shoot. This year we decided to mix it up a bit. Your cast comes off the day after your birthday. AND, we found out last week that your braces will come off by the middle of June! I thought it would be great to have your official 13 year old shoot with those things removed. So, we did a best friends photo shoot. It was freezing cold. You crazy girls insisted on wearing shorts and dresses anyway. We had tons of fun! Next time, we will wait for warmer weather.

Here are some photos from our shoot:
